Four brave officers of the Pakistan Army made the ultimate sacrifice on September 8, 1965, while defending the nation against Indian aggression during the war.
Captain Nazir Ahmed, Major Muhammad Fazil, Lieutenant Muhammad Naeem Akhtar, and Major Anwar-ul-Haq fought valiantly in different sectors before attaining martyrdom.
Captain Nazir Ahmed
Captain Nazir Ahmed, part of the Medium Artillery Regiment stationed in the Khem Karan Sector, Kasur, under the command of Brigadier A.R. Shamsi, was serving as a Forward Observation Officer (FOO) when he was struck by an enemy bullet in the right eye. He embraced martyrdom while on the front lines.
Major Muhammad Fazil
Major Muhammad Fazil, from the Support Battalion, was stationed at Ichhogal Bund on the Wagah border. During a sudden enemy attack, a fire broke out in the arms depot. Despite the danger, Major Fazil worked to save the weapons when he was hit by a bullet, sacrificing his life for the country.
Lt Muhammad Naeem Akhtar
Lieutenant Muhammad Naeem Akhtar of the Punjab Regiment was posted at Haji Pir Pass in Kashmir. He sustained serious injuries during an attack by Indian forces and passed away on September 8, 1965.

Captain Anwar-ul-Haq, from the Baloch Regiment stationed on the Wagah border, played a pivotal role in defending against a heavy Indian assault. He helped destroy two enemy tanks before being martyred during a counterattack on the BRB Canal. He was posthumously promoted to the rank of Major in recognition of his bravery.
