Fiverr, a freelance marketplace, has recently informed its users regarding the internet disruption across Pakistan, mentioning that the issue may lead to potential delays from Pakistani freelancers.
In recent days, internet services have remained slow and disrupted nationwide causing significant inconvenience to the general public and impacting businesses including the freelance industry.
The disruption reportedly comes as authorities proceed with the installation of a new firewall system aimed at regulating social media platforms. Reports suggest that the ongoing internet outages have led to widespread frustration among users, who are finding it increasingly difficult to carry out their daily activities.
In the past few weeks, the internet disruption has led to several challenges for freelancers including meeting their project deadlines.
To address this situation, Fiverr, a global leading online marketplace, has shared notifications saying that the the service has marked freelancers from Pakistan as temporarily unavailable.
In a notification, the company stated, “We understand that there may be internet disruptions in your area that might make it harder to keep your routine going. To make sure any unexpected order delays won’t hurt your ratings, we’re going ahead and temporarily setting your availability status and Gig(s) as unavailable.”
“Keep in mind that this action will not negatively impact your ratings,” it added. We are just looking like some little known African country.
