Former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry expressed grave concern on Wednesday, suggesting that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari are on the brink of committing a monumental error by attempting to outlaw Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Speaking to the media in Lahore, Chaudhry criticized the decision made by Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari, labeling it a significant blunder. He predicted they would regret their actions and find themselves isolated among their peers.
Chaudhry also highlighted the revocation of PTI’s iconic bat symbol but noted that despite challenges with symbols, the party continues to achieve electoral success.
Regarding Imran Khan’s incarceration for 14 months, Chaudhry emphasized the perceived persecution of PTI’s founder, asserting widespread national support for him.
He further addressed concerns about alleged external digital interference, distancing PTI from such actions and demanding the release of PTI Information Secretary Raoof Hasan, citing international scrutiny of human rights violations in Pakistan.
Additionally, Chaudhry commented on ongoing tensions with the judiciary, public discontent, and economic challenges, warning that these issues mark just the beginning of a potentially tumultuous period ahead.
