Govt-PPP talks stall as parties clash over Punjab and Sindh roles

Important details have emerged regarding the negotiations between the government and the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP), shedding light on the exchange of demands between the two parties.

The discussions revolved around political roles in different provinces.

Sources revealed important aspects of the negotiations between the government and PPP. The PPP expressed its desire for a political role in Punjab, while the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) sought participation in Sindh.

According to sources, the PPP demanded a share in power for its officials and ticket holders in Punjab. On the other hand, PML-N leaders demanded government posts and funds for party officials in Sindh.

However, sources indicate that the PPP is not inclined to give a share to PML-N in Sindh. Following the PPP’s refusal, the PML-N also backed down from any assurances.

The negotiation process has slowed down after PML-N’s demand, indicating a potential deadlock in reaching a consensus.
