Nine soldiers martyred in Bannu suicide attack
At least nine soldiers martyred in a suicide attack on security forces convoy in Janikhel area of district Bannu in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,according to ISPR.
There has been a suicide attack on the convoy as a result of which 9 officers were martyred and 5 injured.
In a statement issued by the Public Relations Department of the Pakistan Army (ISPR), it was said that on August 31, 2023, a suicide bomber on a motorcycle carried out a suicide attack on an army convoy in the general area of Bannu District, Jani Khel.
According to ISPR, 9 jawans, including Naib Subedar Sanobar Ali, accepted martyrdom in the suicide attack, while 5 soldiers were injured.
According to the spokesperson of Pakistan Army, the security forces have surrounded the area and action is being taken to eliminate the terrorists found in the area.
The statement further said that the security forces of Pakistan are committed to end the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers strengthen our resolve.
Caretaker Prime Minister expressed regret
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar has expressed regret over the martyrdom of 9 Pakistan Army personnel in the alleged terrorist attack in Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
