Justice (retd) Mqbool Baqar sworn in as caretaker chief minister Sindh

Caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh Justice (retd) Mqbool Baqar took the oath of office at the Governor’s House on Thursday.

Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori took oath from the caretaker chief minister of Sindh. The oath-taking ceremony was attended by prominent figures and legal luminaries.

The swearing-in event marked a crucial step towards ensuring stable governance during the interim period leading up to the next general election.

Justice (retd) Mqbool Baqar’s was born in Karachi on April 5, 1957. He pursued higher education at the University of Karachi before venturing into the field of law.

In 1981, he was called to the Bar after obtaining his LLB.

His legal acumen led him to be appointed as an additional judge of the Sindh High Court on August 26, 2002.

A year later, on August 6, 2003, he assumed the position of a permanent judge of the Sindh High Court.

Demonstrating his commitment to the legal system, he took on responsibilities as Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court on September 20, 2013.

Continuing his upward trajectory, Justice (retd) Mqbool Baqar was appointed as a judge of the Supreme Court on February 17, 2015. He served in this capacity until his retirement on April 4, 2022.
