CTD official martyred in explosion in Khuzdar, Balochistan

The station house officer (SHO) of the Khuzdar Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) police station on Thursday was martyred in a heavy explosion targeting his vehicle.

According to Khuzdar Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Fahad Khosa, the event happened close to Jhalawan Medical College, which is situated along the National Highway. The official, named Sharbat Khan Umrani, was reportedly traveling to work when the explosion occurred, according to the SSP. He claimed that the CTD official’s car had a bomb installed in it.

Police and security personnel arrived at the scene of the event right away, according to SSP Khosa, along with the bomb disposal team, which was determining the size of the explosion.

He claimed that the District Headquarters Hospital had received the deceased SHO’s body.

Four Quetta CTD employees were martyred on April 11 in a fierce gunfight with militants in the Killi Spin neighborhood of Kuchlak town. During the raid, one claimed the terrorist was also slain.
