Karachi police arrested Imran’s nephew on charges of obstructing the police
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Hasan Niazi was arrested by the Karachi police on Tuesday on the charge of threatening the government.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), Niazi and his accomplices incited people through social media videos to threaten defense agencies and said that no one would be safe if Khan was arrested.
According to Mohammad Iqbal, a case of inciting hatred against the government among people was registered on Monday at Jamshed police station in Karachi. Karachi Police officials confirmed that they had arrested Niazi and a four-member team including a Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) and three police officers took him into custody.
Niazi is scheduled to appear in the Karachi court after the investigation. Meanwhile, sources confirmed that the court has granted bail to Niazi in the cases registered against him in Lahore and Quetta.
Yesterday, the Karachi police received a temporary arrest warrant for a Tehreek-e-Insaf leader from the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) for transferring him to Bandari city and sent him to jail on a 14-day judicial remand in the Zila Shah rice killing case.
In a previous hearing, investigators sought to physically detain Niazi for a photogrammetric examination, but the judge agreed to a two-week judicial detention order and denied the request for physical detention.
After obtaining pre-arrest bail in three other cases, Niazi was arrested while leaving the Federal Capital Judicial Complex on March 20 for misbehaving with police officials.
The District Court of Islamabad agreed to a two-day physical remand for PTI’s legal officers and after the expiry of the physical remand, he was sent to jail with two weeks of judicial remand.
