Some truck drivers at the scene reported that they were not compensated for using their vehicles to block the road. According to the driver, one of the police officers of Shafiqabad police station near the old Ravi bridge told him that this was a government order and that the police had the keys to the truck.
Some students who were supposed to participate in the exam of the Institute of Certified Accountants were also affected by the road blockage. It is reported that they could not reach the exam venue because the road was blocked.
Drivers have been ordered to block trucks until 12pm tomorrow. Police crackdown continues as authorities aim to maintain law and order during PTI rallies.
Meanwhile, party chief Imran Khan asked Lahore fans to attend the jalsa after 9 pm to break all records. he said confidently.
Mr Khan, who was ousted as prime minister in a no-confidence vote last April, said he would unveil his vision for “true freedom” at the rally.
He also discusses how the country can overcome the challenges posed by what he claims are “fake divisions”, referring to Shabazz Sharif’s government, which he believes has plunged the country into chaos.
Khan hopes the government will put up barriers to prevent his supporters from attending the event, but said it is their fundamental right to attend the Jalsa.
He also encouraged everyone to exercise their rights as citizens of a free nation and attend the venue.
