The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Monday dismissed terrorism charges in a complaint filed against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan over the attacks on Parliament and Pakistan Television (PTV).
ATC judge Rana Javad Abbas heard requests to drop the terrorism charges from the case. Naeem Haider Panjosa and lawyer Antzar Hussain Panjosa submitted a petition on behalf of Mr. Khan.
After announcing the verdict, the court referred the case to the Sessions Court.
Khan had earlier challenged the jurisdiction of the ATC in the case, arguing to the court that the Tehreek-e-Insaf had staged a peaceful protest and that terrorism charges had been leveled against the party’s leadership, linking the case.
