This week, nine separate incidents of firing and bomb blasts took place in different areas of the province in a single day, for which the armed organization Baloch Liberation Army claimed responsibility.
Militant incidents have increased in Balochistan since the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) announced a resumption of attacks in the country, where other armed groups, including the TTP, are also active.
Provincial Interior Minister Mir Zia Longo also acknowledged this and said in a statement that “militants have reorganized and returned from Afghanistan.”
This week, there were nine different incidents of firing and bomb blasts in the same day in different areas of the province.
The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), an armed organization active in Balochistan, claimed responsibility for all these incidents. The spokesman of the organization, Jayand Baloch, said in a statement that “Attacks were carried out in Torbat, Kahan, Gwadar, Hub, Khuzdar, Kalat and Quetta.”
Regarding the increase in militancy in Pakistan, especially Balochistan, Independent Urdu spoke to defense and security experts, who said that due to the situation in Afghanistan, Pakistan also faces militancy.
Defense analyst Brigadier (retd) Mehmood Shah said in a conversation with Independent Urdu that the bad situation in Afghanistan affects Pakistan, especially the two provinces of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to Mahmood Shah: “However, the situation has a greater impact on Balochistan because there are nationalist forces like the Baloch Republican Army (BRA) and the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), which operate from Afghanistan.
At the same time, he said that “Baloch nationalist organizations have their own thinking and program and the Afghan Taliban has nothing to do with this thinking, but in any case, incidents of extremism are increasing in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.”
Mehmood Shah further said that Pakistan has already given a leeway. Now he should show some diligence and continue the policy he has thought of, which is intelligence-based operations and actions at suspicious places, which can reduce these incidents.
On the other hand, Baluchistan University teacher and friend Mohammad Barich, who monitors security issues, believes that there are ideological ties between the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and the Afghan Taliban, which cannot be ignored.
In a conversation with Independent Urdu, Dost Mohammad Barich said: “There is theoretical relationship between the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and the Afghan Taliban.” Pakistan should not be happy that the Afghan Taliban will eliminate them (TTP).
He further said that both the Taliban and the TTP are stealing the weapons left by America in Afghanistan and the Taliban are not cracking down on the TTP to keep Pakistan under pressure.
Dost Mohammad Barich further said that if Pakistan is thinking that the Taliban will end the TTP, then it is not visible because the Taliban are the ones who fight, for them research, development and human rights have no meaning. Creating such conditions is not a difficult task for them.
At the same time, he emphasized on ‘proxy war’ and said that ‘this century is of proxy war, in which no state fights itself, but it participates in the war directly.’
After the increase in the incidents of extremism in Balochistan in recent days, the provincial government has assured the people of action against the militants and asked them to be satisfied.
Provincial Interior Minister Mir Ziaullah Longo said in his statement issued on Sunday night after several incidents of extremism in a single day in Balochistan that our intelligence agencies have reached the hideouts of terrorists. We assure our people to be satisfied. Militants have already caused a lot of damage to Pakistan and now they are trying to do it again. We will break their backs and very soon we will restore peace and order in our country.
He further said that ‘all the law enforcement agencies have been strongly urged not to neglect their responsibilities and to focus all their attention on safety while any such situation in the future. Disruption will not be tolerated.
