Army Chief visits Tirah Valley in Khyber district

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir visits Tirah Valley, Khyber District

The Army Chief spent the day with forward troops deployed along the Pak-Afghan border.

He was briefed by the Field Commander on operational preparedness and border control measures as part of the Western Borders Management Regime.

Interacting with the officers and men, the Army Chief lauded them for their high morale and operational readiness in the line of duty.

The Army Chief said that the writ of the state has been established due to the innumerable sacrifices of the tribal people and security forces.

The Army Chief reiterated that our fight against terrorism will continue with the support of the nation until we achieve lasting peace and stability.

The Army Chief said that the defense of the motherland will be ensured at all costs and there will be no place for those who disturb peace.

No one will be allowed to stop the hard-earned gains made so far in the fight against terrorism.

Later, the Army Chief visited Corps Headquarters Peshawar and laid a wreath to pay homage to the martyrs.

The Army Chief was also briefed on other operational, training and formation issues, including efforts to create a safe environment for socio-economic development projects for the development of the newly merged districts.

Earlier on his arrival, the Army Chief was received by Corps Commander Peshawar Lieutenant General Hassan Azhar Hayat.
