Karachi Police on Wednesday decided to contact the International Criminal Police Organisation (Interpol) for arresting Khurram Nisar involved in killing of a cop in the port city.
DIG South Irfan Baloch told that the legal process has been initiated to arrest the fugitive suspect Khurram Nisar while the police was writing a letter to DG Passport to seize the passport and also approaching FIA to contact Interpol.
“We are writing to the director general of passports for seizing his passport and we are also approaching the FIA (Federal Investigation Agency) for contacting Interpol,” he said.
Nasir, who is the son of a former deputy commissioner, took an international airline flight via Istanbul, which will land in Sweden.
The suspect used his Swedish passport to run away from Pakistan, police sources said.
The case:
A policeman named Abdul Rehman was shot dead by Khurram Nisar for reportedly inquiring about suspicious activity in the Defence Phase V area of Karachi late Monday night.
SSP South Syed Asad Raza told that during the incident, two policemen on a motorcycle were trying to take the suspect’s vehicle to the police station.
CCTV:
A footage of the shooting was recorded via CCTV camera in which Rehman and Nisar step out from the passenger seat and driver’s seat, respectively, of a black vehicle with tinted windows.
In the same video, the cop can be seen holding a pistol and gesturing Nisar to sit in the car and go to the police station.
According to the police, Nisar, came to Karachi from Sweden on November 5. He was living in Pakistan with his wife and two children.
