Acting Vice-Chancellor Nishtar Medical University has established a three-member inquiry committee.
The dumping of abandoned human bodies on the roof of the anatomy department of Nishtar Hospital was pointed out yesterday by Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab Tariq Zaman Gujjar during his visit, on which the Chief Minister Punjab took notice of Acting Vice Chancellor Nishtar Medical University Professor Dr. Mehnaz Khakwani has established a three-member inquiry committee which includes Professor Dr. Abbas Naqvi, Dr. Ghulam Mustafa and Dr. Tariq Pirzada. However, according to the SOPs issued by the Home Department, a letter has been sent to the CPO Multan for the burial of the abandoned bodies. According to the OPs, it has been asked to ensure the burial, in this regard, Dr. Maryam Ashraf, head of the anatomy department, has also written to the vice chancellor Nishtar Medical University and said that the body was brought for post-mortem by the police. Freezers to abandoned bodies It is impossible to keep the corpses in such a bad condition that they cannot be used for teaching purposes. The bones of the dead body are used to explain the students, after removing the bones, the dead bodies are buried according to the SOPs, while the spokesperson of Nishtar Medical University said that the dead bodies were kept in the rooms closed with mesh on the roof. Bones are also procured from abandoned bodies for teaching purposes as per law, abandoned bodies are cremated by the concerned police station.
