Central Session at Jhelum Garrison as Chief Guest. The mega shooting event was organized at the Army Marksmanship Unit from August 22 to October 10, 2022. More than 2000 firemen from Army, Navy, Air Force, Civil Armed Forces (CAF) including Rangers (Sindh, Punjab), Frontier Corps and GB Scouts participated. As civilians participated in the competition which consisted of several events involving different ranges and types of weapons.
Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, Chief of Air Staff (CAF) was present as the chief guest and distributed the prizes. In the inter-formation competition, Mangala Corps stood first and Bahawalpur Corps stood second. In the Civil Armed Forces (CAF) category, Punjab Rangers bagged the trophy while Gilgit-Baltistan Scouts bagged the runner-up trophy. In inter-services matches, Pakistan Army won three out of four matches including COAS, Chief of Air Staff (CAS) and Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) matches while Pakistan Navy won the CISM match. Pak Navy finished runners-up in the COAS and CNS matches while PAF finished second in the CAS match.
Pakistan Army won the Shotgun, Long Range and Small Bore trophies in the Open National Matches. Pakistan Navy won the Prime Minister Skills at Arms Big Bore National Challenge match while Pakistan Army secured the second position.
The highest military shooting honor ‘The Master at Arms’ trophy along with gold medal of ‘National Rifle Association of United Kingdom (UK)’ was awarded to Lance Naik Syed Mansoor Ali Shah of 112 Wing Gilgit-Baltistan Scouts. The President’s Cup National Challenge Match Trophy was awarded to Major Ahmed Jahanzeb of the Army Marksmanship Unit. Prime Minister Skills at Arms Small Bore National Challenge Match Pakistan Army won. The best shot match trophy was awarded to Lance Naikullah Dutta of 165 Field Regiment Artillery.
Two new national records were also created during the national level matches.
Major General Ahsan Gilrez, Director General Military Training (DGMT) participated and scored 150/150 points with 8 shots bull hit in the final of 800 Yds Rifle Match and set a new PARA national record while Lt Col Junaid Ali Zulfikar National Set a new qualification record. By scoring 150/150 points with 12 shots bill hit in an 800 yard rifle match.
11 participants and faculty members of the First Sniper Course of Pakistan Army Sniper School (PASS) were also awarded prizes and sniper badges.

Interacting with the participants, the COAS appreciated the shooters for their excellent marksmanship. Describing shooting skills as the hallmark of a professional soldier, the COAS said mastery of shooting should remain among the objectives of basic military training.
Later COAS visited Jari Kas Cantt near Mirpur AJ&K. COAS inaugurated APS Jari Kas and interacted with the students. The COAS also addressed the officers and men at Jari Kas Cantt.
