Two killed, vehicles torched in protest on Super Highway

The Super Highway near the Sohrab Goth area looked like a battlefield as unidentified people created chaos for four hours allegedly in reaction to the Hyderabad incident and its aftermath.

Unidentified protestors blocked the Super Highway by creating hurdles and burning tyres on the road. They also torched two cars, two motorcycles and a bus during the protest. A 30-year-old man, identified as Najamul Hasan was killed for resisting the outlaws in their bid to snatch valuables at the Buraq petrol station on Super Highway.

Later, Nazir Allah Wadhaya, 30, a resident of Lasi Goth, was shot dead by unidentified men in the Sohrab Goth area, ASI Abdul Ghafoor said.

Women stuck in traffic jam were also abused by unknown people. Armed suspects also snatched official weapons from the traffic police. Miscreants robbed the people on board a coaster. They also broke the windshield of the coaster. The people on board the coaster were going to a farm house for picnic.

it should be noted that Murder of a youth allegedly by restaurateurs of Afghan origin triggered a strong reaction as mobs were seen harassing people running tea and tandoor shops in Hyderabad and other cities of Sindh.

Tensions ran high in Hyderabad on second consecutive day on Wednesday as dozens of men riding motorbikes forced shops of Pashto and Persian speaking people to close in Tower Market area. Similar incidents also happened in Shaheed Benazirabad districts.
