Here we have a government that is out of sync with the electorate. Reason? The electorate has known that this government is farce and has been enforced upon them. This is what we call a democratic coup. And what did the Kingmaker get out of it. Angry citizens, voters, and taxpayers. The democratic coup is the exception, not the norm. The vast majority of coups do not fit within the democratic coup framework primarily because either they are staged against a democratically elected government, not an authoritarian or totalitarian regime, or they result in a dictatorship, not in free and fair elections.
Following a democratic coup, the military temporarily governs the nation as part of an interim government until democratic elections of civilian leaders take place. During that democratic transition process,, the military must oversee a number of housekeeping tasks to transition the nation to a democracy.
The primary purpose of a military is to protect the state from external threats Peter Feaver succinctly summarized the fundamental tension caused by maintaining a military within a civilian government: “The very institution created to protect the polity is given sufficient power to become a threat to the polity.”Although most nations employ legal and administrative measures to keep the military subservient to the civilian government, those measures are effective only insofar as the military chooses to follow them.25 When the military disregards those measures and unleashes its coercive power to topple the civilian government, the result is a coup d’´etat..
It is likely that PTI leaders in the only province they control are already under pressure for not flexing that muscle of federalist resistance more robustly.
This Army is corrupting all the institutions in Pakistan. It has never won a war. 100,000 POW in India after Bangal fiasco! A jewal in the crown of this Army! 70 years now they have failed to liberate Kashmir but LORD OVER its own Awamis! Half of Pakistans history is the witness. About time to say enough is enough.
Charge General Bajwa foe treason n conspiring with a hostile forign enemy who bankrolled the crises in Pakistan and General Bajwa is heading the operations. He should be immidately dismissed n Court Marshalled before it is too late.
