A Prisoner refuses to go out of jail after being released from jail
Prisoner says he has been asked out of jail where to go in such high food prices and his poverty.

A man entered a police station in Deira Allah Yar, and siad that I came due to utter poverty, I am unable to buy food, please lock me up in your police station so that I ccan at least get a square meal daily.

This is just two glimpses out of hundreds in Pakistan today. Prices are rising at a time when jobs, livelihood opportunities and incomes are declining. The average earning of around 62% of households was just Rs. 20.000 a month. With such low income, the impact of price rise of essential commodities is devastating. But why blame the Finance Minister for being oblivious to the suffering of the poor? He follows her leader who is several steps ahead.

Pakistani economic analysts say they’re concerned Pakistan’s reliance on the bailout package will put the economic policy in the hands of the IMF. “I think Islamabad needs to envisage the basics of lending and borrowing here. A borrower with a frail economic outlook can never be in a position to effectively negotiate about the conditions attached with the debt,” Ayesha N. Rao, a professor in the economics department at the National University of Sciences and Technology in Islamabad said Economic analyst Farhan Bokhari.

Inflation in Pakistan is already the highest in the [South Asian] region,” said Ismail. Ordinary business owners are feeling the local effects of Pakistan’s macroeconomic problems. At his meat shop in Islamabad, butcher Afaq Ahmed said no customers are coming in, as a full cow and goat hang from an iron hook. “People can’t afford meat at an expensive rate,” he said. “I voted for Imran Khan in 2018 and I am regretting my decision. Before his government things were going good but there is tension everywhere now,

Increased economic hardship in the wake of inflationary pressures at the household level will push people, primarily women, to take up precarious work which is often poor-paying, poorly monitored in terms of safety, lacks worker benefits and generally increases their time-poverty,” Hadia Majid, an economics professor at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), said. “It is clear as crystal that inflation is going to increase further,” said Rao. She added that soaring energy prices are having a direct effect on the prices of general commodities. Recent surveys indicate more than 90% of the public dislike this government over its poor economic performance,” a political analyst said.
