The forest fires that are devastating areas across the Koh-e-Sulaiman range have continued for nearly two weeks – with authorities struggling to contain them. On May 19, at least three persons burned to death and four others were injured after a fire engulfed thousands of pine trees in the Sherani district in Balochistan. In the absence of proper fire-fighting arrangements in the district, the local people could not do much to contain the fire. Now, authorities say that Iran has provided a special plane to Pakistan to put out the fires – while the army has also started fire-fighting operations. Such fires are a terrible reminder of how ill-prepared we are across Pakistan to face such blazes
There are currently more than 12 forest fires in different parts of Pakistan and in the provinces. Including the olive groves of Balochistan. In the last two to three years, Pakistan has done commendable work on climate change challenges.
Pakistan was being praised all over the world. The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson in his address to the UN General Assembly had mentioned Imran Khan’s “environment friendly plan” and asked the world to follow Imran Khan.
The Billion Tree Project was an example to the world.
It is not a coincidence that fires broke out in different parts of the country at the same time. A full and impartial investigation is required, we have no dearth of our enemies, here and in the neighborhood.
Isn’t this the result of a conspiracy of an imported government which has a record of burning records?
These are vindictive, criminal and aggressive people and nothing is far from them.
Although patriotic traitors in Pakistan can easily play a role in any conspiracy against the country and the nation in the name of regime change, they can also set fire to forests.
I believe that Allah Almighty will have mercy on the beloved homeland
