The Christian community is celebrating its religious festival of Christmas with fervour and zeal today (Saturday).
Christmas eve saw people thronging shopping malls in order to buy new clothes and gifts for their relatives. Houses were also decorated with the same zeal with events related to the occasion organised at various locations.
Strict security measures were taken to ensure safety of the Christian community and forces had been deployed outside churches to thwart any untoward incident. Many of our celebrities and politicians took to social media to extend warm wishes for Christmas.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Imran Khan has wished the Christian community in Pakistan a happy Christmas. “Wishing all our Christian citizens a very Happy Christmas,” he wrote on his official Twitter handle on Saturday.
Veteran actor Adnan Siddiqui also wished the Christian community a happy Christmas. “May the spirit of Yuletide fill your life with joy and bring peace and good health. Merry Xmas to our Christian brothers and sisters!” he wrote on Twitter.
Mawra Hocane shared a picture of herself sitting next to a beautifully decorated Christmas tree, wishing everyone a “Merry, merry Christmas.”
TV host Fakhr e Alam also sent the best of wishes to those celebrating Christmas.
Actors Shafaat Ali and Armeena Khan also wished a happy Christmas to those celebrating.
